Bio

Most recently took part in the management buyout of a bankrupt company (Disciple), where I then led GTM to drive it to profitability at $2.2M ARR.

My story also includes a crypto trading sidequest where I made 300% over 3 years, and building the scraping + text-scoring engine UnHerd magazine used to research whether Elon Musk has been biasing the X algorithm (he hasn’t).

From your posting From my record
Ramp · What you need
Founder-mode mentality with proof to back it up — you own outcomes, not deliverables.
Ownership

Bought the company.

Part of the management buyout of Disciple (from bankruptcy), then drove it to net profitability.

Ramp · What you need
Excellent cross-functional influence: you’ve directed channel specialists without formal authority over them.
Cross-functional influence

Remade the inbound function.

Instrumented the tracking stack, rewired sales<>agency feedback loops around CRM actions. CAC down 67%.

Ramp · What you need
Demonstrable AI fluency: workflows, prompts, or internal tools you’ve built that materially changed how you work.
AI fluency

Vibecoded the outbound pipeline — pre Claude Code.

End-to-end: scraping, enrichment, and vector embeddings for audience-to-angle matching, feeding the outbound operation directly.

Ramp · What you’ll do
Get your hands dirty. Audit the funnel, write the brief, pull the data, run the experiment.
Hands-on

Built outbound motion from phones up.

Made the cold calls myself, codified the script, then hired and ran the SDR team across UK, US, Canada, Australia & NZ. Closed $120k in revenue before we pulled channel.

Ramp · Own the playbook
This is not a role for someone who wants a defined playbook. The playbook is what you build.
Positioning

Positioned the product in a crowded market.

Ran the research that repositioned Disciple against better-funded competitors — from feature parity to owning the segment they didn’t want to serve.

  • Remade the inbound engine end-to-end — audited the Google Ads account and found the algorithm training on raw call volume not any meaningful signal. Re-instrumented the stack (Google Tag Manager custom conversion events based on form response) so it optimised on qualified intent, and then rewired agency feedback loop with sales around CRM outcomes. Trained sales on how to properly categorise leads. Cut spend from $60k to $15k/month while holding qualified lead volume flat — CAC down 67%.
  • Built the outbound motion from the phones up — took the calls myself, wrote the playbooks off live conversations, then hired and ran an SDR team across the UK, US, Canada, Australia & NZ. Modelled it as a separate channel with its own economics — targeting ~$60k deals vs the $12k inbound average — closing $120k in revenue. We ultimately pulled the channel to focus purely on inbound.
  • Vibecoded the full outbound pipeline (pre–Claude Code) — shipped a working v1 solo over a weekend: scraping, enrichment, LLM lead-scoring. Proved the channel, then industrialised it with engineering on Airflow. Latest iteration matches prospects to campaign angles via vector embeddings on their own website language — targeting by resonance, not firmographics.
  • Led the JTBD research that repositioned Disciple as the mobile-first community platform — read better-funded rivals’ PLG incentives from their hiring and CEO narratives, took the sales-led segment they weren’t prioritising, and killed the web plan that was pulling us toward the wrong buyer, enabling the move upmarket.
Timewith — Head of Growth
June 2017 — Nov 2020
First employee at a mental-health marketplace spun out of Reach PLC’s digital arm.
  • Built the organic engine from zero on a brand-new domain — leveraged the parent company’s domain authority (nav placements across Reach PLC properties) to give a fresh domain instant weight, then turned it into organic listings for therapists and companies rather than paying Google for demand. Drove 10–20k organic profile visitors/month for our therapists, with the blog scaling separately from zero to 50k monthly visitors.
  • Scaled the supply side of the marketplace from 0 to 400 therapists — scraped therapist profiles across the web and sent them live client leads before they’d joined, alongside LinkedIn automation and outreach. Sole growth hire, owning acquisition on both sides of the market. We launched 3 products in my time and led GTM for all of them.
Beyond the CV
  • Crypto trading sidequest

Made 300% on personal capital over three years (2021–2023). Taught me about probabilities and expected value.

  • LLM tooling for journalism

Built an X-scraping analysis tool for UnHerd to assess whether Musk is biasing the algorithm (He isn’t). Used grey market to buy a bunch of dummy accounts, set up different audience profiles for each, scraped feed, processed and categorised text using an LLM. My partner and I also ran the data analysis ourselves.
